Convertible Cradle by Martin Price

Many parents put the old cradle to the warehouse storage, give it to someone else or even throw it in the trash. Designer Martin Price, a 2009 Product Design graduate of Central Saint Martin, came up with idea to design and craft a cradle that when it is no longer used could be used by sawing in the middle and make it into two rocking chairs functional.

This project developed from research about the attachment of people for their property and to understand how they use objects to trigger memories and stories of events in their lives.
