WAFFT Table by Tani Matsumura

The WAFFT Table by Tani-Matsumura (Takaaki Tani and Kazunori Matsumura) is a very thin table made with a hybrid of aluminum and beech wood plywood.

By compressing two layers, the result is a thin but flexible, each material compensates for the weaknesses of the other. Additional firmness is added by applying three-dimensional distortion, so that is strong enough to support the weight.

With minimum processing and minimum amount of material used, this table gives a sensation of lightness.

WAFFT Table was presented during the Fourteenth Edition of Salone Satellite from April 12 – 17 2011 at Milan.
