Linger Bench by Alvin Tjitrowirjo
A clever Indonesian designer Alvin Tjitrowirjo has designed Linger, an outdoor bench made of natural rattan and produced by hand, as opposed to machines.
Linger’s organic shapes and sizes meant to bring people together to sit, linger and socialize.
Linger is truly a coup for Alvin. Since Indonesia is effectively the birthplace of the material (once supplied up to 90% of the world rattan), the medium has a homespun roots. Tjitrowirjo’s achievement with Linger is no less than delivering respected craft from local resources into the contemporary age.
